I have only had one of these experiences but it was the most memorable experience of my life. I have always believed that anything is possible but I had serious doubts about out-of-body experiences. My friend was driving me home from college one day. Normally, I love to sleep in cars but this was different.

About half an hour into our drive I fell asleep. I was enjoying the sun and the moving car, when I suddenly discovered that I was traveling outside the car. I saw the car moving and kept up with it, but I was aware that I was alongside my body which was still in the car. It was very peaceful and fulfilling, but all at once I got a little scared and wondered what was going on. A minute later I was back in the car and in my body. I didn't know what to say to my friend because I knew she would think I was insane. I finally asked if anything had looked strange to her and she said no.

A short time later I told this story to my friend and he said he had done the same thing before and that it had also been spontaneous, not something he willed himself to do. I will never forget that experience for the rest of my life. It proved to me that if you can exist outside of your body, who knows what is possible?
