I
read on your site the story entitled "Traveling
Outside the Car." I had a very similar experience
driving to work one morning a few years ago.
I
was on Rte 95 South, just leaving the Baltimore city
limits on my
way to the office in Columbia, Maryland. I suddenly
realized I was about 10 or 15 feet above the car, though
still in control. I could see my own car below me, and
the other traffic around it. Of course, I immediately
returned to my normal place behind the wheel, somewhat
shaken by the experience.
Unlike
the contributor of the original article, I was awake
and driving
the car at the time. I was about half-way into a 45
minute commute. I
usually spend my commute time thinking about work or
whatever else comes to mind, rather than listening to
the radio.
On
this occasion, I was enjoying a beautiful, sunny morning
- it was around 7:45 a.m. I was driving more or less
"on auto-pilot," since I made the same trip
every morning, so I was very relaxed. Other than that,
I have no idea why this happened.
Having
read a lot about out-of-body experiences, I have always
wanted to be able to do this again, preferably from
my arm chair at home, but have never been able to.
